A flash flood had washed out this portion of road. This would not have happened if the farmer had not cut down so many of the trees to make his field larger and straightened out and/or eliminated some of the creeks in his field. Field runoff from the Midwest area actually has so many chemicals that it kills a lot of the ocean life below Texas and Louisiana. Each flash flood and heavy rain dumps high amounts of weed and insect killing poison into the waters that contain the fish we eat, adding extra ingredients to our food and cutting down on our fishing productivity. The big corporate farms don’t care and the little guys have to do the same, or go out of business.
